University of Missouri Task Force on Health Disparities

 

At the request of University President, Elson Floyd, a Task Force on Health Disparities has been formed to develop a strategies for the university to become a national leader in taking actions and proposing policy initiatives to reduce health disparities.

 

The Task Force is charged with:

 

1. Establish an inventory of initiatives to reduce health disparities within the University of Missouri and the state of Missouri.
2. Recommend strategies to increase minority student recruitment in the health care schools.
3. Recommend changes in curriculum to enhance students' understanding in regard to health care disparities.
4. Recommend steps to be taken to eliminate any disparities in health care to UM patients.
5. Outline proposals for UM to reduce heath care disparities in the state.
6. Develop partnerships with the State and other universities to address health disparities.
7. Recommend strategies to increase UM research on health disparities.
8. Recommend strategies to make UM a national leader in reducing disparities in health care.
